Redmond Cycling Club's annual Mazama ride. The normal ride is two different passes across the mountains; first, going in from Marblemount to Mazama, crossing Rainy Pass and then Washington Pass, over 5000 feet of climbing. Then the next day you go back. But due to inclement weather, they climbed from Mazama to Rainy and back (excluding the long ascent from the west) and the next day was a 60 or so mile ride through the beautiful Methow Valley (and climbing another smaller hill).

here's Donald and some friends as they are cresting the second day hill

In contrast, here's what they confronted the first day. Lots of snow, rain, wind and mist

Here I am at the top (in someone's Honda element) with my new hero. She is over 65 and did 3500
miles last year and she just went up this mountain like it was a walk in the park!
(and check out her beautiful bike!)

Here's Donald at the highest possible point

Some more roadside scenery

Such a beautiful vista!

Along the road

One of the last riders comes in. And we were happy to see him!
